I. INTRODUCTION

Debt reaffirmation agreements are an exception to the fundamental principle of United States bankruptcy law that an honest debtor receives a fresh start. Congress, realizing the importance of the fresh start principle, and, also, that in certain situations debtors may wish to reaffirm their pre-petition debts for good reason, enacted 11 U.S.C. § 524(c).
