Peterson, Justice.

Plaintiff, claiming that defendant was negligent in failing to maintain a warning sign, a device, a barrier, or barricade in front of a ditch adjacent to a street at the point where the one on which he was driving terminated, sued to recover for personal injuries and damage to his automobile caused by his driving into the ditch. The defense was contributory negligence. Plaintiff had a verdict, and defendant appeals.
