The trial court granted defendant’s motion for summary judgment based upon a release. Plaintiff appeals. We affirm.

On January 5, 1988, the plaintiff was paid $32,000 in exchange for a release which provided:

“George E. Bruner does hereby release and forever discharge Illinois Central Gulf Railroad Company *** from any and all claims, demands, damages, actions, causes of action, or suits of any kind or nature whatsoever which the undersigned now has or seems to have or which may hereafter accrue against the parties herein released arising out of George E. Bruner’s employment with Illinois…
