This is an appeal from a judgment convicting the defendant, Jim Turner, of the crime of grand larceny. A number of errors are assigned in the motion for a new trial why the judgment should be reversed; but, after careful examination of the record, we think only two of these alleged errors of sufficient importance to require notice. These relate to the refusal of the lower court to give certain instructions requested by the defendant, and to its action in permitting the State to ask defendant upon his examination as a witness if he bad been previously convicted of petit larceny.
