BOYD, District Judge.

This is an appeal from a decree in admiralty entered by the District Court of the United States for the Eastern District of Virginia, at Norfolk. The appellee, Leslie B. Colgin, a marine engineer, for some time anterior to the making of the contract, which is the basis of this proceeding, was employed as chief engineer on a steamer called “The Aurora,” which belonged originally to the James River Navigation Company.
