On February 23, 1999, plaintiff Anthony Workman filed this action in Michigan’s Berrien County Circuit Court, naming as defendants both his former employer, United Fixtures Company (“United” or “the company”) and his collective bargaining representative, Local No. 7 of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (“Local 7” or “the union”).
