VANARTSDALEN, District Judge.

I. Background

Class Action Order No. 63, entered February 8, 1983, provided a detailed schedule for pretrial proceedings. That order, as amended, provided that “dispositive motions” were to be filed on a specified date, which was to be after the conclusion of discovery, excluding deposition discovery of certain trial “fact” witnesses. All remaining defendants 1 have filed, either jointly or individually, motions for summary judgment and decertification of the class. Extensive briefs have been filed and two days of oral argument…
