This opinion is necessitated by plaintiffs’ appeal to the Superior Court of Pennsylvania from our order dated September 8, 1995, which denied plaintiffs’ petition to open judgment of non pros.

On April 30, 1990, plaintiffs filed their complaint seeking recovery for injuries allegedly sustained in a traffic accident. They were represented by Joel D. Caney, Esquire. Defendant was served and David A.
