Defendant Green Delano Peoples was convicted by jury of second-degree murder,* 1 and appeals. He raises several issues concerning jury instructions at his trial.

On October 18, 1974, defendant and several other people, including the deceased, Will Liddell, were drinking and socializing at a private home in Detroit. Defendant and Liddell began to quarrel and subsequently left the house and engaged in a fistfight. After reentering the house the parties continued to argue.
