This appeal and cross-appeal arise out of a mechanic’s lien filed by plaintiff, Baumhoefener Nursery, Inc., for the labor and materials involved in digging up and packaging 400 trees for delivery and installation at a Des Moines real estate development owned by defendant, A & D Partnership, II. The principal question on A & D’s appeal is whether the labor and materials furnished by Baumhoefener are “lienable” under Iowa Code sections 572.1(2) and 572.2 (1997), as found by the district court.
