Plaintiff William Longnecker was a passenger in an airplane owned by defendantappellee Noordyk-Mooney, Inc., an aircraft dealership, and piloted by defendant-appellee Stuart P. Noordyk when the plane crashed on landing October 8, 1966. Joined by his wife, Mr. Longnecker sued defendants for injuries arising out of the crash. After the trial judge ruled that Mr. Longnecker was a "guest passenger” under the terms of MCLA 259.180a; MSA 10.280(1), the case was submitted to the jury, over the plaintiffs’ objection, on a standard of "gross negligence or wilful and wanton misconduct” rather than…
