— The defendants are wholesale merchants in the city of St. Louis. The plaintiff is a traveling salesman; His home is at Independence, Missouri. In the fall of 1895 the defendants employed the plaintiff to travel for their house in the states of Missouri and Kansas. The contract provided “That Baer, Seasongood & Co., of the city of St. Louis have this day employed Frank L.
