The principal question in this case is whether an attorney’s voluntary and unsupervised “self-suspension” while disciplinary proceedings against her were pending warranted her reinstatement earlier than would otherwise have been appropriate. Here, the Board on Professional Responsibility has recommended that respondent Julia A. Soininen receive a nunc pro tunc six-month suspension, to run from the date she filed an affidavit in which, inter alia, she disclosed her decision to suspend herself.
