After a joint jury trial in the Bay County Circuit Court, defendants were convicted of armed robbery (MCLA § 750.529 [Stat Ann 1971 Cum Supp § 28.797]) and kidnapping (MCLA § 750.349 [Stat Ann 1954 Rev § 28.581]). Defendants were represented by separate counsel. Each defendant now appeals the denial of his motion for a new trial. This Court ordered the cases consolidated for hearing on the merits.

During the second day of trial, the trial court granted the prosecution’s motion for leave to indorse on the information the name of one Rosemary Weisheim and to call her as a prosecution witness.…
