MEMORANDUM OPINION AND ORDER

SCHEINDLIN, District Judge.

Local 32B-32J, Service Employees International Union, AFL-CIO and Local 2, Service Employees International Union, AFL-CIO (collectively “plaintiffs”) brought suit under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 against the defendants for having violated their First Amendment rights. A trial was held and the jury reached a verdict, finding for plaintiffs on the issue of liability but awarding only $0.50 in nominal damages. Plaintiffs, as prevailing parties, now move under 42 U.S.C. § 1988 for an award of reasonable attorney’s fees and other costs. In particular,…
