The defendant, Louis Hawthorne, who was charged with robbery in the first degree, in violation of General Statutes § 53a-134 (a) (4), for the robbery of a Greenwich gas station, was found guilty by a jury of the lesser included offense of robbery in the second degree, in violation of General Statutes § 53a-135 (a) (2).
