GEER, Judge.. Respondent Michael Charles Hayes was found not guilty by reason of insanity following a murder trial. Pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. § 15A-1321(b) (2007), he was involuntarily committed to a state mental health facility. Since then, the trial courts have recommitted him following each recommitment hearing. In this appeal, he challenges the trial court’s 1 October 2007 order again recommitting him to involuntary inpatient treatment for a period not to exceed 365 days.
