This Court granted the writ of certiorari to the Georgia Court of Appeals 1 in this case to consider whether insurance policies approved by the insurance commissioner are subject to judicial notice, which standard applies for vicarious liability under the Georgia Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), 2 and whether violations of the insurance code could serve as a basis for liability under that Act.
