MEMORANDUM
GORBEY, District Judge.
The defendant has filed a motion asking for relief from the consequences of having failed to plead or respond to a complaint as provided by the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
A chronology of events follows. The complaint, arising out of an automobile accident, was filed April 18, 1974, and was served on the defendant on May 2, 1974.
