li>The defendant, Gerard J, Bourgeois, was charged by amended grand jury indictment with one count of filing false public records (count I), a violation of La. R.S. 14:133; and one count of forgery (count II), a violation of La. R.S. 14:72; and pled not guilty on both counts. Following a jury trial, he was found guilty as charged on both counts. On each count, the defendant was sentenced to five years at hard labor, suspended, and five years probation, with the sentences to run concurrently with each other.
