On January 14, 1994, the juvenile was found delinquent in the Cambridge District Court juvenile jury session by reason of two armed robberies and murder in the first degree. *269The trial proceedings were intended to be recorded on tape (electronically), rather than by a court reporter. Gaps in the tape, however, rendered portions of the record inaudible and, therefore, unintelligible despite the efforts of the judge and parties to reconstruct it.
