Louisiana’s workmen’s compensation statute permits an employee of an independent contractor to recover workmen’s compensation benefits from the principal employer on a project if the employee is either injured while performing tasks customarily done by the principal’s own employees or is injured while performing tasks that are an integral part of the principal’s business.
