MEMORANDUM OPINION

KAPLAN, District Judge.

This is an action by major motion picture studios, including Time Warner Entertainment Company L.P. (“Time Warner”), pursuant to the Digital Millenium Copyright Act 1 to enjoin defendants from posting on Internet web sites a computer program called DeCSS, which allegedly defeats an encryption system used by plaintiffs on digital versatile disks (DVDs) containing their copyrighted motion pictures.
