OPINION

ZAMORA, Judge.

Defendant Jeremy Lucero appeals his convictions for voluntary manslaughter, contrary to NMSA 1978, § 30-2-3(A) (1994), and aggravated battery, contrary to NMSA 1978, § 30-3-5(C) (1969). He argues that: (1) the district court erred in refusing a requested self-defense instruction as to the voluntary manslaughter and aggravated battery charges, (2) the district court erred in denying his requests for a mistrial, and (3) his convictions for aggravated battery and voluntary manslaughter arise from the same course of conduct and violate the prohibition against double jeopardy.…
