Appellant was sued as a corporation, the basis of the suit being a certain publication that appeared in the “St. Louis Republic,” a newspaper published daily in the city of St. Louis, Missouri, owned and controlled by said corporation. Actual damages were prayed.for in the sum of §30,000, and exemplary damages in the sum of $30,000. No special damages were alleged or proved.
