TORRUELLA, Circuit Judge.

The appellant, former counsel for plaintiffs in a civil rights class action, brings this appeal on his own behalf. It was submitted without argument. The dispute arises out of the distribution of attorney’s fees awarded under 42 U.S.C. § 1988. The issue on appeal is whether, in the circumstances of this case, the claim for such an award belongs to the party or to the party’s attorney.
