This case arises from a contract whereby a mortgage lender undertook to procure credit life insurance for a borrower. Carol M. Wells, administratrix of the estate of her deceased husband, Jefferson L. Wells, Jr., sued Virginia First Savings and Loan Association for its breach of an agreement to submit the Wells’ application for credit life insurance to an insurance company. At trial, the jury returned a verdict in favor of Mrs. Wells in the amount of the loan balance as it stood on the date of Mr. Wells’ death.
