In September 1991, a jury convicted defendant, Patrisio Villanueva, of burglary (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1989, ch. 38, par. 19 — 1(a)). At defendant’s November 1991 sentencing hearing, the trial court found him to be a Class X offender under section 5 — 5—3(cX8) of the Unified Code of Corrections (Unified Code) (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1989, ch. 38, par. 1005 — 5—3(cX8)) and sentenced him to 20 years in prison. The trial court also ordered defendant to pay $350 in restitution.
