Defendant, Patrick Strebin, pleaded guilty in July 1989 to aggravated battery of a child (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1989, ch. 38, par. 12 — 4.3) in return for the dismissal of a second charge pending against him, aggravated criminal sexual abuse, and the State’s agreement that defendant would receive a sentence of probation. At the sentencing hearing in February 1990, defendant was sentenced to 48 months’ probation, subject to various conditions, including that he serve 24 months of periodic imprisonment and pay restitution.
