I. INTRODUCTION
Plaintiff Ruggero D’Onofrio (“D’Ono-frio”) filed this suit on December 12, 2003 against twenty-two Italian newspapers and radio and television stations. He alleges that from December 2, 1995 through December 12, 2001, the Defendants “jointly and severally engaged in a dastardly inquisition more offensive to honor and liberty than any other in recent history” and seeks damages of over $26 million.
