The Public Safety Officers Procedural Bill of Rights Act (POBRA; Gov. Code, § 3300 et seq.) provides that a “public safety officer under investigation” by his or her “employing public safety department . . . that could lead to punitive action” “shall be informed of the nature of the investigation prior to any interrogation.” (Gov. Code, § 3303, subd. (c), italics added.) We now confront the question: How much “prior to” any interrogation must the officer be given that information?
