This case concerns an application of the Statute of Frauds provision of that portion of the Uniform Commercial Code dealing with sales (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1975, ch. 26, par. 2—201). Section 2—201(1) of the Code states that, subject to certain exceptions listed in the section, no contract for a sale of goods at a price in excess of *500 is enforceable unless evidenced by a writing signed by the party to be charged or his authorized agent or broker.
