Defendant-appellant Byron Morgon was convicted by a jury in Lake Superior Court of kidnapping, Ind.Code § 835-1-55-1 (Burns 1975), and rape, Ind.Code § 85-18-4-8 (Burns 1975). The trial court sentenced him to life imprisonment on the kidnapping charge and a determinate term of twenty-one years on the rape charge.
