This controversy was initiated by the appellees, Mrs. Clarice Kent, widow of J. M. Kent, deceased, and their five minor children, by their filing a claim with the Industrial Accident Board of this state for compensation under the Employers’ Liability Act of this state (Vernon’s Ann. Civ. St. Supp. 1918, arts. 5246 — 1 to 5246 — 91), because of the death of the husband and father, J. M. Kent. It was the contention of the claimants before the board that J. M. Kent, at the time of his death, was an employé of the Gulf Refining Company, and that he met his death in the course of his employment,…
