Appellant Eve Elaine Lawson was charged with first-degree murder. A jury convicted her of second-degree murder, and she was sentenced to twenty years in the Arkansas Department of Correction. She appeals the conviction based upon the following alleged errors by the trial court. First, she contends that because she is deaf, she was entitled to the assistance of an interpreter before the police took her statement and at the hearing on her motion to suppress her statement.
