Terry Denson appeals from the judgment of the circuit court denying his motion for post-conviction relief pursuant to Rule 29.15 without an evidentiary hearing. On November 22, 1996, a jury in the Circuit Court of Jackson County found Mr. Denson guilty of murder in the second degree, § 565.021.1 RSMo 1994,1 armed criminal action, § 571.015, and arson in the second degree, § 569.040. He was sentenced as a prior offender under § 558.016 to a period of life in prison for both murder in the second degree and armed criminal action, and to seven years for arson. The…
