MEMORANDUM OF OPINION
EUGENE R. WEDOFF, Bankruptcy Judge.
This Chapter 13 case is before the court on a creditor’s objection to confirmation, raising the recurring question of the rate of interest that must be paid on a secured claim being “crammed down” pursuant to § 1325(a)(5)(B)(ii) of the Bankruptcy Code (Title 11, U.S.C.). As discussed below, secured automobile loans crammed down in a Chapter 13 case ordinarily do not require interest payments at greater than the prime rate in effect on the date of confirmation of the debtor’s plan.
