Following the enactment of H. B. 544, Laws of Missouri 1957, p. 285, V.A.M.S. § 86.370 et seq., twenty-two retired police pensioners made a joint application to the Retirement Board of the Police Retirement System of Kansas City for the payment of increased pension benefits for 19 months from the effective date of the act in a sum aggregating $23,344.02, and for annual pensions thereafter in increased amounts computed under the new formula prescribed by H.
