STEELMAN, Judge.
Defendant was indicted for and found guilty of first degree murder by a jury. The trial court sentenced him to life imprisonment without parole. Defendant appeals his conviction for first degree murder.
The State’s evidence at trial tended to show that on 29 April 1999, the defendant shot Mary Mitchell (“Mitchell”) twice in the back. In the weeks prior to the shooting, Mitchell had obtained warrants against defendant for making harassing phone calls and for assault by pointing a gun.
