EVERETT, Chief Judge:

Specialist Four Leon B. Redmond was tried at Bad Kreuznach, Federal Republic of Germany, before a general court-martial composed of officer members, on February 24 and March 1-5, 1982. Contrary to his pleas, he was found guilty of premeditated *320murder, in violation of Article 118 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 U.S.C. § 918.1 The court sentenced him to a dishonorable discharge, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, reduction to the lowest enlisted grade, and to be put to death.
