This is a hearing upon a writ of habeas corpus granted upon a petition of George Stem, who was charged in two detainers lodged with the warden of the Northampton County Prison with being *133a fugitive from justice from the State of New Jersey. The petitioner alleged that he was illegally detained in prison, and prayed to he admitted to hail. It was stated on the argument that a requisition had been asked for, and that two indictments had been returned against the relator in New Jersey, each charging him with “hold-ups”; that is, with robbing the proprietors of two stores in…
