1Opinion of the Court

DIXON, Judge.

Movant’s counsel has filed an appeal from the denial of a Rule 27.26 motion. Movant was convicted of capital murder, and the jury imposed the death sentence. The conviction and sentence were affirmed on direct appeal by the Supreme Court. State v. Trimble, 638 S.W.2d 726 (Mo. bane 1982), cert. denied, 459 U.S. 1188, 103 S.Ct. 838, 74 L.Ed.2d 1031 (1983).

The trial court’s order denying the Rule 27.26 motion is reversed because defense counsel was ineffective, and the cause is remanded with directions to vacate the judgment of conviction and to order a new trial.
