In this certified appeal from the judgment denying a petition for a writ of habeas corpus, the petitioner, Stewart Peterson, claims that the court: (1) applied an improper legal standard in assessing the effectiveness of his trial counsel regarding the duty to adequately explain a plea offer from the state; (2) incorrectly assessed the effectiveness of his trial counsel regarding the duty to secure pretrial detention credit with respect to other charges then pending against the petitioner; and (3) improperly decided facts before the close of evidence.1 We affirm the judgment…
