This is an action for damages for the loss of life of Victor, who was twelve and one-half years old and the son of the plaintiff. The defendant was driving southwest on state trunk highway No. 27 en route to his home in Viroqua and was approaching a turn on the road in front of the Round Prairie schoolhouse. According to the testimony of the defendant and the person riding with him, the defendant was driving at the rate of about twenty-five miles an hour, but as he approached the turn he slowed down to about twenty miles an hour.
