The only question with which we find it necessary to deal in this appeal is whether that portion of our “long arm” statute 1 which provides that our courts may exercise personal jurisdiction over a nonresident who “commits a tortious act within this State” can be construed to cover a situation where a nonresident corporation allegedly commits a tortious act outside the state which causes injury within the ■State.
