QUINN, Justice.

The People appeal from a judgment of acquittal entered by the District Court of Arapahoe County after a jury had found the defendant, James Dowell Brassfield, guilty of two counts of felony menacing, section 18-3-206, C.R.S.1973 (1978 Repl. Vol. 8). 1 The trial court concluded that conflicts and contradictions within the prosecution’s case rendered the evidence insufficient to support the jury verdicts and entered a judgment of acquittal notwithstanding the verdicts.
