State v. Warner
Hawaii Supreme Court
1Opinion of the Court
OPINION OF THE COURT BY
OGATA, J.
Defendant-appellant Melvin Louis Warner (hereinafter referred to as appellant) was found guilty by a jury of murder. He was thereafter sentenced by the trial court to serve, a prison term of twenty years. The single question presented on this appeal is whether the trial court erred in refusing to give appellant’s requested instructions on the offense of manslaughter. We conclude that the trial court’s refusal to give the requested instructions on manslaughter was erroneous, and we reverse the judgment and sentence of the court below.
