I. INTRODUCTION
These consolidated wrongful death and personal injury cases arise out of the crash of a Pan American World Airways, Inc. (“Pan Am”) Boeing 707 in Pago Pago, American Samoa, on January 30, 1974, in which ninety-seven persons died and the four survivors were injured.
