This case involves the court’s power to prevent a debtor’s continuing abuse of the bankruptcy system. Ignacio Mendiola is a repeat filer. Over the last six years, he has filed six Chapter 13 bankruptcy petitions, either individually or jointly with his wife. All five prior cases were dismissed after the debtor failed to make plan payments or otherwise did not comply with his obligations under the Bankruptcy Code.
