In re the Marriage of Freeman

Washington Supreme Court

Decided September 2, 2010No. 82283-2PublishedCited by 30 opinions

1Opinion of the CourtSanders, J.

¶1 — In 1998 Robin Freeman (now known as Robin Abdullah) obtained a permanent protection order against her then-husband, Rob Freeman. Soon thereafter Rob1 left Washington as part of a military reassignment; he claims he has never returned. In 2006 Rob moved to modify or terminate the permanent protection order. In this appeal, we must determine whether the superior court commissioner improperly declined to terminate the permanent protection order at that time. We affirm the Court of Appeals. The commissioner abused her discretion when she denied Rob’s motion to terminate the order.
